The Bank of Ghana and the Development Bank of Ghana in partnership with the Monetary Authority of Singapore launched the 3i Africa Summit, a landmark event focused on unlocking Africa’s fintech and digital economic potential.
The summit, themed “Unleashing Africa’s Fintech and Digital Economic Potential,” will bring together key stakeholders from across the continent to discuss and collaborate on driving innovation, investment, and impact within the financial services sector.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Ernest Addison, Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BOG) highlighted that Africa is uniquely positioned to leapfrog into the digital future due to its mobile network growth, homegrown solutions, and youthful population.
Ghana’s Minister of Finance Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, emphasized the crucial role of the 3i Africa Summit in fostering strategic dialogues to accelerate the pace of digital transformation across Africa.
Special guest at the event, Vice President Dr Bawumia highlighted the Ghanaian government’s commitment to advancing digitalization through initiatives like the Ghana card, digital address system, and GhIPSS, and reaffirmed its support for the development of the fintech ecosystem through the establishment of a dedicated Fintech Innovation Fund.
