Assault on Policemen: Rev Owusu Bempah, three other cases adjourned sine die (indefinitely)

Accra, June 08, GNA- The case in which Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah of the Glorious Word Power Ministries and three others are being held for allegedly assaulting Police officers and causing damages to property, has been adjourned (Sine die) indefinitely by an Accra Circuit Court. 

When the matter was called on Wednesday, the Prosecution was absent but the accused persons were however present. 

The substantive prosecutor Police Chief Inspector Dennis Terkpetey is on course and no Police Officer held his brief. 

The Court presided over by Mrs Rosemary Baah Torsu adjourned the matter indefinitely, as a duplicate docket has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for advice. 

Rev. Owusu Bempah is standing trial with three others, namely, Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene and Nathaniel Agyekum. 

They have been variously charged with offensive conduct, assault on Police officers and causing unlawful damage. 

They have pleaded not guilty, and they are on bail. 

Accused are said to have assaulted officers tasked to invite Rev. Owusu Bempah to the Police Station after a case of threat of death was made against him and the accused persons.
