Renowned businesswoman and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Blooms Bookshop and Trading Enterprise, Madam Eva Obese Bempong, has made a generous donation to her former primary school, Aseseeso Presby Primary School in Aseseeso in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.

In collaboration with the Nana Akua Sika Okani Memorial Foundation, Madam Obese donated GH¢12,500 worth of kindergarten reading and writing materials.

During the mini-durbar for the presentation of the items, Madam Obese emphasized the importance of giving back to the community, citing her Christian values.

She pledged to keep assisting her childhood school and the community, and that as time passes, donations will reach more schools nationwide.

“I’m committed to supporting the education of future generations, and this donation is just the beginning. I promise to continue assisting Aseseeso Presby Primary School in any way I can, ensuring these children have the resources they need to succeed. Education is the key to unlocking their potential, and I’m honored to play a role in shaping their future,” Madam Obese stated.

Madam Eva Obese stated that the donation was given in an effort to promote and enhance reading and writing skills among the students of the school.

She explained that the decision to provide the school with kindergarten reading and writing materials was made given that she believes a foundational education is crucial.

She entreated the teachers to allow the pupils to access the books.

Madam Eva Obese took advantage of the occasion to urge wealthy residents and fellow alumni to contribute to the development of the school, as it requires assistance with infrastructure.

She said that even if the government is making an effort to improve education, it is insufficient. As a result, people who can offer help must do so in order for the nation to have a better system of education.

This is not the first time the CEO of Blooms Bookshop and Trading Enterprise has made such a donation; last year Africa Methodist Episcopal Zion School (A.M.E. Zion) in Manso in the Asene-Manso-Akroso District also received reading and writing materials for kindergarten valued at GH¢16,000.

Thankfulness

Mr. Osofo Otopah Appiah, the headteacher of Aseseeso Presby Primary School, expressed gratitude to Madam Obese for her generosity after embracing the items.

He asserts that the materials will greatly enhance teaching and learning.

“We are grateful for your kindness and generosity. Your contribution will have a lasting impact on our students’ academic journey. We look forward to your continued support,” he said.

He assured that the reading materials would be put to good use to benefit the students.

On his part, Hon. Henry Ansah Addo, the Assembly Member for the Aseseeso electoral area, also expressed appreciation, Mrs. Eva.

He says Mrs. Eva’s donation shows her dedication to community development and encourages others to follow in her footsteps.

According to him, the school still needs assistance with a library, fan lights, computer lab, and other essential facilities, and for that matter, they appreciate her pledge to continue supporting the school and hope it inspires others to follow suit.

The students pledged to utilize the resources effectively and promised to make good use of the textbooks to brighten their future.

“We thank Madam Eva for her kindness. These materials will help us learn better and achieve our dreams, said one student.

Madam Obese’s donation has sparked hope for a brighter future among the students, teachers, and community members.
