SC East Bengal goalkeeper, Arindam Bhattacharja will head to Spain for a training stint with Marbella FC as part of his preparations ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL)

Bhattacharja who won the Golden Glove award while at ATK Mohun Bagan in the 2020/21 season is understood to be keen to improve his performances ahead of the upcoming ISL season and sees the stint with Marbella FC as a step in that direction.

“I am going to Marbella in Spain, to train for a month. I will be training with the club called Marbella FC. I had a talk with their goalkeeping coach. He asked for few of the video clippings of my training to get an idea about how do I train here in Kolkata. I sent him some clippings of my training with some of the foreign coaches. After going through them, he asked me to go there and train with their first team,” he said in an interview.

“I have applied for the visa. Once it comes, I will leave for Marbella. I have to pay all the expenses for this training for one month,” Bhattacharja added.
