A group of thugs who describe themselves of supporters of self-styled man of God Salifu-Amoako
yesterday stormed court premises.
In a dangerously unruly manner, they set on a journalist and a police officer and subjected them to
serious beating and assault.
The sin of the journalist was that he was there to cover the trial of Salifu Amoako and his wife. The sin of
the police man was that he had tried to save the journalist from the attack.
Salifu Amoako and his wife are on trial because they have given a high performance vehicle to their son
to use, which son has managed to kill some other people with the high-performing vehicle.
So far, we have not heard a word of apology from Salifu-Amoako, his wife, his son or his supporters.
In all this heartbreaking scenario, we are shocked that any group of sane people would believe that
attacking a poor journalist would solve anything.
We believe that what the so-called supporters of Salifu-Amoako should ask themselves is whether they
have been given the same high-end cars by the preacher?
No doubt, over the years, these supporters have been making substantial contributions as offertory to
Salifu-Amoako. How has he paid them back beyond riling them to violence in his defence?
They should ask themselves if the Bible preaches violence, instead of mercy.
The Daily Searchlight is of the firm opinion that these thugs should be identified and prosecuted to the
fullest extent of the law, so that it would serve as a lesson to those others who would follow rabid con-
artists like Salifu-Amoako to cause violence.
