Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng yesterday engaged the media on his party’s major policy document, dubbed the Great Transformational Plan.
The engagement took place at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel. The engagement by the Movement for Change/Alliance for Revolutionary Change marks an innovation ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The question and answer program (Q&A) was attended by several notable figures within the Movement for Change. Among them were Dr Abu Sakara Forster, who would be the Running Mate to the flag bear, Nana Ohene Ntow, an aide to the flag bearer and others.
During the answer time, Mr. Kyeremateng said that he would support tourism through the policy of bringing on board the private sector to assist the development of the tourism sector.
He said that his party was targeting at least 30 parliamentary seats across the nation, but would also seek to recruit members from across the political spectrum in a union government.
He stresses that he would consolidate all anti-corruption laws, synthesize them, following which he appoint an anti-corruption Czar.
He noted that such an appointment has to be independently done, and that it may be necessary to create a second chamber of parliament to appoint certain people who must necessarily not be appointed by the president.
He said that the private sector is crucial to delivering certain outcomes, such as sports because government would never be in the position to deliver the excellence needed.
He stated that it is only the private sector that can build the right infrastructure, through which we can develop the talent that can take the nation to the top. Currently because the facilities to nurture the talent are non-existent because the private sector support is weak.
” I find the notion of government trying to do everything when it doesn’t have the money is amazing,” he said
“We must get the private sector to be at center of development,” he said.
