AL- FARUQ College of Education Holds 8th Matriculation

The AL – FARUQ College of Education in the Wenchi Municipality of Bono Region has held its 8th matriculation ceremony for students who gained admission into the college for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday March 5 ,2024 at the College auditorium.
A total of two hundred and seventy eight students were admitted to pursue Bachelor of education programmes with specialisms in Early Grade education, Primary Education and Junior High School education under the Mentorship of the University of Development Studies (UDS).
Out of the two hundred and seventy eight applicants 37 are studying B.ed EGE, 73 are also doing B.ed Primary while 168 are offering B.ed JHS.
The Principal of the College, Mr. Wahab Sualiu congratulated the freshers on behalf of Council and Management on their admission to the great AFCOE fraternity.
Addressing the occasion, the Principal of the College, Mr. Wahab Sualiu explained that the 2023 admission has been especially competitive at which he said the college has to select only 278 out of over one thousand qualified first choice applicants due to infrastructural deficits of limited space for lectures and accomodation.
Mr. Wahab Sualiu cease the opportunity to make a passionate appeal to the government, NGOs and well meaning Ghanaians to assist the college to construct lecture halls,hostel facilities, demonstration school, auditorium, Principal’s bungalow and so forth to run a smooth academic work at the college to enable the college to accommodate more students in future.
This admission gives you a full assurance of job opportunity in the world of work. I urge you to fully utilize the opportunity by studying very hard and be disciplined in order to go through the curriculum successfully Mr wahab reiterated
To forestall some of the infrastructural challenges, the Principal indicated that the government has started the construction of a 300- bed capacity hostel project.
He thus called on the contractor to speed up work to meet the time frame.
Mr. Wahab Sualiu finally noted that the college has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct and does not hesitate to sanction any student that shows up gross disrespect.
