Daasebre Boamah Darko, the Chief of Akyem Kukurantumi and Adontenhene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area in Ghana’s Eastern Region, has formally expressed his support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Nana Kwame Addo Ampaw Frempong, also known as Chief Buffalo, in their bids for the 2024 general elections.
This endorsement was made during a visit to his palace on Thursday, August 22, 2024, by Dr. Bawumia and Chief Buffalo, who were accompanied by a delegation of New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials, including national, regional, and constituency executives, as well as government representatives and party supporters. The visit was part of the NPP’s ongoing campaign activities in the region.
Daasebre Boamah Darko commended the achievements of the Nana Akufo-Addo administration, particularly under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia as Vice President. He praised the efforts of the current Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Umar Babs Bodinga, for their contributions to the region’s development, which he believes have earned the confidence of the local population.
The Chief is optimistic that these accomplishments will lead to an NPP victory in the 2024 elections. He encouraged Dr. Bawumia to continue his good work and to complete the ongoing projects in the area, which will likely enhance his prospects in the upcoming elections.
Daasebre Boamah Darko also urged Dr. Bawumia to remain focused and undeterred by critics, emphasizing the importance of staying committed to the development of the region. His public endorsement of Dr. Bawumia and Chief Buffalo underscores the traditional leadership’s support for the NPP’s electoral ambitions in the Eastern Region.
This endorsement is anticipated to galvanize the NPP’s supporters in the region as the party gears up for the 2024 elections, aiming to secure both the presidential and parliamentary seats.
