Dr. Mohammed Amin Anta Adam, the current Finance Minister, has eulogized the Ghanaian head of
state, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for his magnanimity and sense of fairness.
Speaking at a town hall meeting in Accra, the minister stated that in our part of the world, it’s not common
to sacrifice one's blood relation to remove your relative from office and replace him with another person.
"The president removed his own blood relation and put me in his place. This is very uncommon in Africa.
Am the first northerner to be appointed as the finance minister from 1957 till now; unheard of!
Am so grateful to the president. Today, I hold one of the key portfolios in government, “He postulated.
"As I am talking to you now, I am the exchequer or the spending officer of the government, without my
signature and approval, no payment would be made in the country, and I so am thankful to the president.
The Minister was replying to the circulation of the 'AGYAPADIE' document question.
He vehemently denied the contents of the document, calling it the figment of someone's imagination with
the evil intent of denigrating and disparaging the president and his family to score undeserved political
advantage.
"The document seeks to bring the president down at the crucial moment of impending elections but l can
categorically state that it's all propaganda and lies.
“This is not the first time they have done this against an NPP president. President Kufuor suffered the
same fate in 2008 with these same vicious, malicious lies and propaganda.
“But we shall survive this one too,” he said.
He called on Ghanaians to disable their precious mind and energies from these devilish, desperate ploys
by politicians who are employing any available method to undo the government to outmaneuver it to
capture political power at all cost.
