Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah, Mayor of Accra, has distanced himself from an alleged violent demonstration that took place at Odododiodio yesterday in support of his candidature for the current position he occupies.
The statement, titled ‘DEMONSTRATION IN ODODODIODIOO’ stated that it has come to his attention that certain individuals are demonstrating in the Odododiodio Constituency in anticipation of the MMDCEs announcement by the Minister of Local Government tomorrow.

“As responsible citizens, we should recognize the President’s authority to nominate individuals of his choice to promote his agenda and it’s our duty to support the appointees to succeed.
“I totally support all the President’s nominations and commit to continue to work towards the development of the country.
“I take this opportunity to call on all well-meaning Ghanaians, especially the NPP party faithfuls, to support His Excellency the President’s nominations,” he said.
