The veteran striker – who became France’s all-time record goalscorer at the 2022 World Cup – continues to deliver, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 22 combined Serie A and Champions League appearances so far this season.

However, Giroud is now 36-years-old and with his contract expiring in June, questions are naturally being asked about what comes next.

What is for sure is that Giroud is not done playing yet. The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker has expressed a desire to finish his career in Milan but if that can’t happen, it appears MLS might be an option.

“I want to renew with Milan, with the Scudetto win I entered the hearts of the fans. I’m talking with the club, if there’s a chance to finish my career at a high level at Milan I’ll do it,” Giroud told reporters, adding: “I could choose an exotic destination, I’ve always liked MLS.”

Should he make the move across the Atlantic Ocean, Giroud wouldn’t be the first, following in the footsteps of fellow European veterans such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, and Gonzalo Higuain in recent years.
