Several instructors in the Ghana National Cadet Corps have called for the dissolution of the current management of
the Corps, led by Mr. Nicolas Nii Amartefio.
Mr. Nicolas Nii Amartefio has occupied the position of National Coordinator for the past 15-20 years.
This was contained in a petition to the Office of the Vice President of Ghana.
The petition is signed by instructors and members of the Ghana National Cadet Corps and other sister volunteer
cadet corps organizations, led by Cadet Sergeant Major Richard K. Mireku.
The signatories stated that Mr. Amartefio's prolonged tenure has led to stagnant leadership, hindering the Corps'
progress and innovation.
They accused Mr. Amartefio's of inefficient management which has resulted in inadequate resource allocation,
affecting the Corps' operations and cadets' welfare.
Again, they stated that there was lack of accountability because unchecked power, causing discontent among
instructors and cadets.
“The current management has resisted necessary changes, stifling growth and development,” the petition stated.
“The Corps' reputation and effectiveness have suffered due to the current management's inadequacies,” they said.
The petition humbly requested the Vice President to dissolve the current management of the Ghana National Cadet
Corps, establish an interim management committee to oversee the transition, conduct a thorough investigation into
the Corps' management and operations and implement reforms to ensure accountability, transparency, and effective
leadership.
“We believe that this petition is in the best interest of the Ghana National Cadet Corps and its members. We are
confident that your timely intervention will revitalize the Corps and restore its glory,” the petition stated. It was
signed Cadet Sergeant Major Richard K. Mireku as Lead Petitioner.
