The Amenfi West Directorate of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) has been malfunctioning for more than a year because the service vehicle is grounded.

The Municipal Directorate of the National Ambulance Service has not been able to respond to distressed calls from citizens who needed its services due to lack of financial support to help repair faulty injectors that have resulted in the grounding of the constituency national Ambulance.

Head of the Amenfi West Municipal Directorate of NAS, Sir. Lord Apetsi has been speaking on the dangerous effect of the grounded Ambulance Vehicle on several radio stations but his appeals for support to repair the grounded Ambulance continues to fall on deaf ears.

Families of referred sick patients from the Asankragwa Catholic Hospital and the Samartex Hospital at Samreboi have been courting the services of private vehicles to convey their relatives to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi and other bigger hospitals in Dua Yaw Nkwanta, and Cape Coast, among others.

Residents are discouraged for being turned down by the national ambulance service in Amenfi West due to the unwarranted breakdown of the service vehicle and are calling on government to help repair it. Until the service vehicle is s repaired referred sick patients from Amenfi West would continue to languish in excruciating pain and still be denied service from the national ambulance service.
