Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic
Congress (NDC), has challenged President Akufo-Addo about his claim that his government has
constructed 12,000 kilometers of roads, asking the President to show where Wenchi benefitted from
those roads.
In reply, the Wenchi Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the Bono Region, Alhaji
Rahman Suwari, has strongly responded, asking Mr. Mahama to seek advice before speaking.
In a statement issued and copied to the media reads, Alhaji Suwari, wrote; “I was shocked to the bone
when I heard the former president John Dramani Mahama asking the whereabouts of Wenchi’s share of
the 12,000 kilometers of roads claimed to be built by Nana Akufo-Addo government.”
Alhaji Suwari continued; “With his status as former president, I was expecting him to get his briefings right
before coming out in public. But since he was not briefed appropriately by his allies, let me set the record
straight.”
According to the Constituency Secretary of NPP, so far Wenchi Constituency has received 48 kilometers
of roads since Nana Akufo-Addo government came into office.
Alhaji Rahman Suwari highlighted some of the roads as the 11 kilometer Droboso Agubie to Badu road,
27 kilometer Droboso Tadieso – Kanaase – Akrobi road and 10 kilometers of Wenchi town roads.
“There are public records and undisputed facts,” he reiterated.
