GHANA’S FOREIGN MINISTER HOLDS JOINT BILATERAL MEETING WITH NORDIC FOREIGN MINISTERS

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey held a joint bilateral meeting with five (5) Nordic Foreign Ministers who were in Ghana for a two-day joint working visit.
The Nordic Foreign Minister were the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, H.E. Mr. Tobias Billström; Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark, H.E. Lars Løkke Rasmussen; Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland, H.E. Ms. Elina Valtonen; Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, H.E. Thórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörd Gylfadóttir; and the State Secretary for International Development of Norway, Ms. Bjørg Sandkjaer.
During the meeting, the Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey stated that their visit to Ghana was historic as it strengthens relations between Ghana and the Nordic countries. The discussions focused on Global Security and Multilateral Cooperation, Regional Security and Development including Cooperation on Counter Terrorism, Trade and Investment, Democracy and Human Rights, and Climate and Green Transition.
The Nordic Foreign Ministers pledged their commitment to further deepen relations with Ghana and assured of their support at the bilateral and multilateral fronts.
Present at the meeting were Senior Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and the Nordic countries.
