The Human Trafficking Secretariat of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP), with support from Verite, organized a two-day capacity building training workshop on Human Trafficking, Forced Labour, and Trafficking in Person data reporting for law enforcement officers.
The training was designed to equip law enforcement officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively combat human trafficking and forced labour.
According to the Head of the Human Trafficking Secretariat, Madam Abena Annobea Asare, by enhancing their understanding and capabilities in handling cases related to human trafficking, the Ministry aims to strengthen the overall response and support system for victims.
“By investing in the capacity building of law enforcement officers, the Ministry aims to bolster the nation’s efforts to eradicate human trafficking and forced labour, ensuring a safer and more just society for all,” she said.
This initiative reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding human rights and enhancing the effectiveness of law enforcement in addressing these critical issues.
