MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Offers Scholarship To  Best Female Student in 2022 WASSCE

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the Western North Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP), Mr. Alfred Obeng-Boateng has granted a full scholarship to Miss Belinda Agyenim Boateng, overall best female WASSCE student in 2022. 
The package was announced at the 67th Independence anniversary celebration parade at Bibiani.
In his address at the ceremony, the MP expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for the gift of life and journey mercies.
“Our forefathers who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country were also appreciated”.
The MP recounted the successes chalked by the NPP government under the auspices of Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo.
On education, the MP charged the constituents in particular and Ghanaians at large to take advantage of the Free SHS policy which has made secondary education accessible and affordable.
 He challenged the students that they had a non-negotiable duty to study hard and excel in their academic pursuits and by so doing, they could contribute their quota to national development. Against this backdrop, the MP promised to sponsor the best female WASSCE student in the Municipality to pursue any course in a tertiary institution in Ghana.
The MP finally pleaded with the constituents to eschew extreme partisanship and forge ahead in unity for development and prosperity.
Miss Belinda Agyenim Boateng was a General Arts student at Otoo Senior High School, a private Senior High School in Bibiani. She bagged  7A’s and 1B in the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The MP has been praised for the gesture since the world is pushing for increased participation of women in governance, decision -making and all sectors of the economy. Gender Equality has been championed by global organizations and various legal frameworks.
 This has been explicitly stated in SDG goal 5: “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.”
In attendance at the occasion was the President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, Western North Regional Minister, Hon Richard Ebbah Obeng, Western North Regional Education Directo, Mr Seth Boateng.
Others were the Regional Police Commander, Fire Commander, Immigration Officer, and others.
