NEWLY ELECTED EXECUTIVES OF GRASAG CALL ON DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER

The newly elected executives of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG) paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (Finance and Administration), Hon.  Mavis Nkansah-Boadu, MP at the Foreign Ministry.
The Deputy Minister, in her welcome remarks  congratulated the executives and wished them  success in their term of office. She encouraged the executives to pursue their intended projects diligently, highlighting their potential to make significant contributions to national development. She further expressed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the Association to push its agenda forward. She encouraged the executives to continue in dedicated service to their fellow students and the country, while recognising the hardships and frustrations that may come with doing so.
The President of the Association, Mr. Emmanuel Owusu, who led the delegation, conveyed congratulations to Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey on her nomination as  Ghana’s candidate for the post of the next Secretary-General of the Commonwealth (CW). He expressed the Group’s preparedness to collaborate with the Ministry on students’ related affairs. On the educational front, Mr. Owusu indicated that the Group seeks to focus on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 which is quality education and Goal 8 which relates to Decent Work and economic growth as well as extending educational opportunities to Ghanaians to pursue their education abroad. He took the opportunity to announce that  GRASAG will host  the GRASAG Global Conference in October, which will bring students from across Africa to discuss the youth component of Agenda 2063.
