Ace actor John Dumelo, who has been trying to annex a parliamentary seat for some time, has said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) does not like intellectuals.
According to him, they prefer the people ‘down there’.
“Most of the NDC members are, for lack of a better expression, people down there. The masses who are down there. Because we don’t believe a lot in intellectuals, like some other people believe in.
Umaru Sanda Amadu of Citi FM, who was conducting the interview, asked him, “So you don’t have intellectuals in your party?”
“We believe in them, I am just saying…in economics we have micro and macro, one of them deals with bottoms up, the other deals with up and down, we deal with the bottom up approach, we are gathering the masses, and we are moving up to the top of it.”
“So you deal with ignorant, unexperienced people, first, before you deal with the experienced technocrats,” Umaru probed again.
“I wouldn’t say we deal with ignorant, unexpected (sic) people, we deal with everybody, but we start from the base up,” he said.
“So you do ‘try and error’ at the bottom,” Umaru probed again.
“We don’t do ‘try and error’, what I am trying to say is (Turning to twi) we do not do selectivity, that as for you, you are a lawyer, that you are a doctor, so you come forward,” he said.
