As the safety and trust of the public remain of utmost concern, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has alerted the public to be vigilant at all times.
The Ministry circulated this alert to the public about fraudulent activities by some individuals purporting to have been contracted by the Sports Ministry to mobilize relief items to support victims of the Akosombo dam spillage.
The Ministry has earnestly requested the public to dismiss any such appeals for assistance from an individual, by name, Felix Kyei Kwarteng who has been identified as one of the persons engaging in the fraudulent act.
The Ministry said, it has neither contracted anyone to raise funds to support the Akosombo dam spillage victims nor hired the imposter Felix Kyei Kwarteng to make announcements in the airwaves particularly in the Northern and Upper East Regions with the sole intention of defrauding unsuspecting individuals.
The Ministry emphasized with the victims and believed that government has taken significant steps to provide emergency relief to affected communities and thus has instituted an Inter-Ministerial Committee to handle the situation adequately.
