NEDCo COMMENCES PHASE THREE OF GENERAL REVENUE MOBILIZATION

The Northern Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (NEDCo), has disclosed that the third phase of its general revenue mobilization exercise would commence in October 2, 2023.
This was contained in a press release issued on Tuesday 19th September, 2023 and signed by the Manager, Corporate Communications, for NEDCo, Maxwell K. Kotoka, at Tamale in the Northern region.
According to the release, NEDCo wishes to inform its cherished
customers and the public that the company will undertake Phase – three of the general revenue
mobilization exercise across its operational areas.
“The exercise will cover all categories of customers in arrears including State – Owned
Enterprises (SOEs), Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as Metropolitan,
Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAS)” it stated.
Mr Maxwell Kotoka stressed that special security arrangements will be put in place to arrest and prosecute anyone who interferes with the exercise.
He further emphasised that any persons identified to be engaged in illegal connections or reconnection will equally be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Accordingly, the release noted, NEDCo’s Head Office and Area Offices will be closed temporarily to allow for the full engagement of all staff, including top Management in this exercise.
It again said the company’s customer service centres, zonal offices and third – party vendors will however remain open to address customer issues including reconnection and faults.
“We wish to further notify the General Public that, recalcitrant customers who have refused
to redeem their indebtedness to the Company after they have been served with Demand
Notices, will be arraigned before Court of Law” the release added.
The Corporate Communications Manager noted that customers in their operational arrears are entreated to pay their bills immediately to avoid disconnection, embarrassment and payment of reconnection fees.
Mr Maxwell Kotoka entreated customers who signed payment agreements with NEDCo under Phase – one of the exercise
(including those who did before or after then), to ensure that all installments that have fallen due are settled by October 2, 2023.
The release later urged the general public to cooperate with the NEDCo to make the exercise very successful adding that “bear in mind that we can only serve you well when you pay your bills”.
