The Ministry of Youth and Sports has clarified the misleading report circulating on social media into falsification about the unpaid salaries of the coaches of the Black Meteors.
The Ministry explained that with the exception of bonus for defeating Algeria, which the Ministry is working to get them paid, all technical members of the team have been paid including outstanding bonuses.
“As the team prepares for the African under 23 AFCON currently in Egypt, their daily allowances are being paid and team members have been daily informed of a bonus structure for the under 23 AFCON in Morocco,” a press release in Accra stated.
As part of the Ministry’s ultimate objective, the qualification of the Black Meteors to Ghana’s first Olympics in 20 years has resulted to the Government’s continuous support and investment in the team, which includes the ongoing pre-tournament training camp in Egypt.
The Ministry urged the general public to remained focused to support the team in order to actualize the ultimate objective of qualifying for the 2024 Olympics in France.
