*BANDA DCE CUT SOD TO CONSTRUCT NURSES’ BUNGALOW, A HEALTH CENTER AND COMMISSIONS TOILET FACILITY*

The District Chief Executive for Banda in the Bono Region, Hon. Akone Emmanuel, has cut sod for the construction of Nurse’s quarters for the Nurses working at the Sabye health centre in the Banda district.
According to the Chief Executive, the project is funded by the Banda district assembly through their District Development Funds (DDF) and it is expected to be completed within 8 months.
The DCE in his address at the sod cutting said the quarters will have 4-unit bedroom flats in each flat having a toilet facility, including a common hall.
Speaking with Hon. Akone, he said the project when completed will help attract nurses to accept posting to the community since challenges with accommodation will be abated.
“I have encountered several reports about accommodation challenges and renovations at the health centre hence health service personnel do not accept posting at the centre, hence the immediate need for construction of the staff quarters”, the DCE bemoaned.
After the sod cutting of the Nurse’s quarters, Hon. Akone furthered by commissioning 8 seater toilet facility for the health centre and a KG block for Sabye R/C Basic school, in addition, the DCE added a sod cutting for the construction of Banda Dompofie Health Centre from the coffers of the Banda district assembly DDF.
Hon. Akone appealed to the beneficiary communities, essentially the chiefs to take proper observations and monitoring to take care of the projects, saying the Nana Addo-led NPP government is surely to develop the country despite the economic challenges.
The District Director of Health for Banda, Mr Simon Adams in his address commended the DCE for facilitating to the construction of the quarters for the Sabiye health centre since it was a major challenge for the service.
He stated that the quarter’s early completion would help get more human resources to boost the service at the centre, therefore appealing to the contractor to be well equipped to get the facility done as looking forward.
He also thanked the DCE for the toilet facility and the construction of the health centre at Banda Dompofie.
