Tiger Eye PI in its latest investigative piece on why there is a seeming loss in investor confidence in the country reportedly captured the Minister making the disclosures

An unnamed official of Tiger PI who posed as a Businessman with an interest in investigating Ghana approached the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahene as a conduit to get to the leadership of the country.

The Minister of State at the Finance Ministry in the investigative piece assured the “investigators” of access to the Vice President who will be interested in their investment in the economy.

However, he suggested that the investors will have to pay an “appearance fee” to Vice President but was quick to add that the Vice President wasn’t like that.

“You mean, like appearance fees and stuff? I mean he, himself (the Vice President), if you give him some (USD) 200,000 or something as a token, as thank you, appreciation, that’s fine. He’s not really; he’s not really (like) that. All he needs is to worry about his campaign money in 2020,” Charles Adu Boahen revealed.

Speaking to the Economic Advisor in an interview to corroborate Charles Adu-Boahene’s claims of the Vice President’s focus on money for his campaign, Gideon Boako indicated that the Vice President has not asked anyone to raise funds for his campaign.

“So, on top of my head and have been with him closely, I will say no. I know how discreet he, the Vice President, is and he is smart and he wouldn’t even dare do such a thing”, Dr. Boako remarked.

DR BAWUMIA’S INTEGRITY CAN NOT BE SWAYED BY MONEY – DR GIDEON BOAKO

Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyao Anas, has reported how the Spokesperson to the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, told their investigative team how decent and principled Vice President Bawumia is.

In a teaser of his upcoming investigation documentary on his Facebook page, Anas revealed how a Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen peddled influence and used the Vice President’s name to demand 200,000 Dollars for the Vice President, to arrange for an investor to meet with the Vice President.

Anas and his investigators posed as businessmen in Dubai desiring to set up a business in Ghana, and Charles assured them he could arrange for them to meet the Vice President.

When asked by the ‘businessmen’ what it would take to meet the Vice President, Charles Adu Boahen, according to Anas, said if they made $200,000 available for the Vice President, he would be able to arrange the meeting.

“You mean, like appearance fees and stuff? I mean he, himself (the Vice President), if you give him some (USD) 200,000 or something as a token, as thank you, appreciation, that’s fine. He’s not really, he’s not really (like) that. All he needs is to worry about his campaign money in 2020,”  Anas quoted Charles Adu Boahen as saying.

However, in Anas’s teaser on his Facebook page, he also reported that the Spokesperson to the Vice President, Dr. Gideon Boako, told them there has been no instance where the Vice President has asked for money before meeting an investor.

“So, on top of my head and have been with him closely, I will say no. I know how discreet he, the Vice President, is and he is smart and he wouldn’t even dare do such a thing”, Anas quoted Dr. Gideon Boako as saying.

Charles Adu Boahen has come under fire on social media following the release of the teaser by Anas.

*BAWUMIA IS A CREDIBLE NORTHERNER AS CLEAN AS JESUS CHRIST – STEPHEN ATUBIGA*

Former Communications Team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and founder of the National Liberation Congress Stephen Atubiga has described Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a credible Northerner, who is as clean as Jesus Christ in heaven.

His defense of Dr. Bawumia’s credibility comes at a time Dr. Bawumia is facing criticism after it emerged that Charles Adu Boahen,   Minister of State in Charge of Finance (sacked today) had told investigators from Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s Tiger Eye PI that Dr. Bawumia was willing to accept money to facilitate their investment interests in the country.

While some seem to believe that Dr. Bawumia’s credibility has been lowered by the investigations, Mr. Atubiga believes that Dr. Bawumia remains squeaky clean.

“Dr. Bawumia is as clean as Jesus in heaven. He is one of our credible Northerners still stall tall,” he posted on social media.

Meanwhile, following revelations of Mr. Adu-Boahen’s influence peddling, he has been sacked by the President.

But Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has described his integrity as a priceless asset that he has labored over the years to build.

He has subsequently served notice that he won’t allow people to use his name for corrupt activities because his integrity remains his major trump card

Dr. Bawumia reacted swiftly on his Facebook page on Monday, following allegations by Anas Aremeyao Anas that a Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, had used the Vice President’s name to solicit $200,000 from investors, for he (Adu Boahen) to facilitate a meeting with the Vice President.

In his strongly worded reaction on Facebook, Dr. Bawumia, who is regarded by many as one of the most decent politicians around, fumed at the alleged conduct of the Minister, adding that he was not aware of any such dealing by the Minister.

*ANAS EXPOSÉ: BAWUMIA NEEDS NO FINANCIAL ‘PIMPING’ FROM ANYONE – FRANKLIN CUDJOE DEFENDS VEEP*

Founding President of Imani Center for Policy and Education Franklin Cudjoe has asserted that Vice President Dr.  Mahamudu Bawumia does not need any financial ‘pimping’ (inducement) to carry out his duties as the Second Gentleman of the land as allegedly suggested by Minister of State in Charge of Finance Charles Adu Boahen in the latest exposé by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Mr. Cudjoe thinks that Mr. Adu-Boahen was too excited when he met with the investigative team of Anas Aremeyaw Anas who posed as Arab investors with millions of dollars to invest in Ghana. He, therefore, was not measured and engaged in grandstanding about people [the President and Vice President]  who were unaware of his dealing with the supposed Arab investors.

“When making business deals, one must always be measured. Grandstanding should be avoided at all costs especially when it involves others who are unaware of the deals. Not sure Veep Bawumia needs financial ‘pimping’ from anyone. The Minister was too excited at the opportunity. Will wait for the full video though,” he commented on the yet to be fully aired exposé.

According to Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Charles Adu Boahen engaged in influence peddling on how he was capable of meeting with President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to facilitate the work of the supposed investors using monetary inducement.

But for Mr. Cudjoe, it is unlikely that Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia would need someone to influence them monetarily to facilitate such investments.

I WON’T ALLOW ANYONE TO USE MY NAME FOR CORRUPT ACTIVITIES – VP BAWUMIA FUMES OVER ADU BOAHEN’S ALLEGED SHADY DEALS

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated in no uncertain terms his abhorrence for corruption and the use of his name for corrupt activities.

In a hard-hitting Facebook post Monday morning, Dr. Bawumia referenced a Facebook post by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyao Anas, in which a Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, was alleged to have used the name of the Vice President to demand $200,000 from potential investors, who were indeed undercover reporters from Anas team in Dubai.

Reacting to the claim, Dr. Bawumia stated emphatically that he is not aware of any such meeting by the Minister, warning that he won’t allow his name to be used for corrupt activities because his integrity is his “most cherished asset.”

Dr. Bawumia then described the position of Charles Adu Boahen as untenable, if he indeed said what is being alleged to have said, and called for his dismissal.

The Minister has since been dismissed.

Below is a full post by Vice President Bawumia.

My attention has been drawn to a video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas (as posted on his social media handle) showing the Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen, apparently using my name, among other things, to peddle influence and collect money from supposed investors. I would like to state that if what the minister is alleged to have said is accurately captured in the video, then his position as a minister of state is untenable. He should be dismissed summarily and investigated.

I am not aware of any such meeting held by Minister Adu Boahen or a supposed “appearance fee”. My most cherished asset in life is my integrity and I will not allow anyone to use my name to engage in corrupt activities

*MY INTEGRITY IS MY PRICELESS ASSET; WON’T ALLOW ANYONE TO RUIN IT – BAWUMIA*

The Vice President, Dr.

The Vice President described the position of the Minister of State as untenable, following the revelation, and called for his dismissal.

Shortly after the Vice President’s post, the President issued a release announcing the dismissal of the Minister of State and also referred his conduct to the Special Prosecutor for further action.
