Manchester City winger Jess Park has signed a new long-term contract at the club running until the summer of 2026.
Park, who won’t turn 21 until October, joined City in 2017 and made her debut aged 16 soon after. She has made more appearances year on year and featured in 25 games across all competitions in 2021/22, including eight WSL starts.
The youngster is very highly rated by those both inside and outside the club and could enjoy a bigger again next season following the departures of Georgia Stanway and Janine Beckie in recent months.
There is, however, also a degree of renewed competition for attacking places from the fit-again Chloe Kelly and new signing Deyna Castellanos.
“I’ve supported City my entire life and I think my passion for the club is definitely clear to see in everything I do, especially on the pitch,” Park told ManCity.com.
“I’ve learnt so much from the players around me and the coaching staff over the last two seasons since I signed my first professional contract, and I’m looking forward to continuing that for the next four years,” she added.
Park’s new deal represents a three-year extension, with her previous contract running to 2023.
“It’s been great to see her receiving the credit she deserves too for her performances,” City boss Gareth Taylor said. “But the best is definitely still to come from her over the coming years and we look forward to working with her to help her grow and develop as a player.”
It has been a summer of turnover for City since the end of the 2021/22 campaign. In addition to Stanway, key players Lucy Bronze and Caroline Weir have also left, while defenders Laia Aleixandri and Leila Ouahabi have arrived from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
