England will look to get their Nations League campaign back on track with a tricky-looking trip to face Germany in Group A3.
The Three Lions suffered a rare defeat in their opening game against Hungary on Saturday as an experimental side was downed by a second-half Dominik Szoboszlai penalty in Budapest.
Gareth Southgate will take his men on the road once again on Tuesday night as England face Germany in Munich – their first meeting since England’s famous 2-0 victory at the last-16 stage of Euro 2020 last year.
The hosts began their Nations League campaign with a 1-1 draw with Italy in Bologna.
This is the second match of a marathon four-game international break straight off the back of the club season. Here’s everything you need to know about this clash between two old foes…

The Germany squad came through the draw with Italy unscathed, so they have no fresh concerns for England’s visit.
Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus was absent through illness but he will hope to be well enough to feature in Munich.
Things aren’t so clear-cut for England, who have a few absences and doubts to contend with.
Debutant James Justin was forced off at half-time against Hungary due to discomfort in his calf, so it’s unlikely Southgate will be willing to risk the Leicester City man here.
Southgate revealed that young centre-backs Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi were carrying injuries when they joined up with the squad and subsequently missed the trip to Budapest, but it’s possible they could feature against Germany.
The England squad has also been hit by illness ahead of this international break. Phil Foden will be absent having left the camp following a positive Covid-19 test. His Man City teammate Raheem Sterling has recovered from his own ailment and is in line to play.
Jordan Henderson was left out of the squad altogether to rest.
England are already in a difficult position in the group having slipped to a defeat in Budapest, and it’s hard to see things getting any easier here.
Southgate has been clear that his main objective in this international break is preparation for the World Cup in November, so you would imagine he will be keen to try out his strongest available team against tough opposition in Munich.
Whether they can do enough to get a victory remains to be seen, but an improved Germany side under Hansi Flick will likely cause them enough issues to get something from the game.
