The Australian international enjoyed a stunning season, netting 20 goals in 20 appearances as Chelsea secured a third consecutive WSL title. She signed off for the campaign with a brace in the FA Cup final as the Blues completed a domestic double.

Kerr’s goalscoring feats this year also saw her collect the WSL Golden Boot for a second successive season.

The 28-year-old netted strikes of great significance in Chelsea’s charge to the 2021/22 WSL title, scoring a last-gasp winner against Aston Villa, a pair of crucial headers against Tottenham and two stunning volleys against Manchester United on a dramatic final day.

The award is the latest individual accolade that Kerr has scooped this term, having already been named WSL Player of the Season and Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year.

Kerr saw off competition from a strong shortlist of nominees, with Manchester City centre-back Alex Greenwood in second with a 25% share of the vote, and Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema completing the top three with 18% of the votes.

Miedema’s teammate Beth Mead finished fourth with 14% of the vote, and Manchester United duo Ella Toone and Alessia Russo rounded off the nominees in fifth and sixth respectively with a 9% and 5% share of the votes.
