Papaye celebrates 30 years anniversary with over 600 employment generation

Papaye Group of Companies has commissioned the Papaye Recreational Village, a subsidiary of the Group at Konkonuru, a suburb of Aburi in the Eastern Region.

The state of the art leisure and relaxation facility have a serene environment and includes sports center, restaurant, game center, water part, botanical garden, event center 200 and an eco-friendly forest reserve.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of the Group, Mr. Samir Kalmoni said the celebration coincided with the company’s 30 years anniversary in the hospitality industry which have currently employed over 600 staff across its operational branches at Spintex, Osu, Haatso, La Paz, Awudome, Tema and Tesano.

According to the Executive Chairman, management of the company have completed the first of the project which can accommodate events such as musical concert, weddings, birthdays, picnics, conventions retreat, camping, receptions, keepfit, sports among others.

“He however called for a mutual partnership between the Group and the tourism ministry to help market the facility locally and internationally and was quick to remind government to fast track the construction of the road network from Gyankama town to Konkonuru, adding that the road becomes unmotorable during the rainy season since tourism can well enhanced though good road networks.

He expressed his appreciation to the media for its continuous support for the Group as well as management, staff and the Board of Directors for their unflinching contributions.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Mark Okraku Mantey assured the Group of government support particularly road networks at Konkonuru and its environs and urged management to maintain its best practises in the hospitality industry.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Seth Acheampong said the Group have chalked success in its 30 years of operations and have contributed immensely towards the socio-economic growth and development of the country through job creations and also urged the company to demonstrate innovations to remain at a competitive edge in the fast food value chain.
