Report by Nana POKU
The Lands Commission has ushered in 50 new surveyors into the surveying profession.
This is after the trainees were made to undergo three weeks of vigorous training and a week’s orientation to equip
them well to do their work.
The 50 trainees were selected on the basis of one's first degree in basic surveying, and he must be a member of the
Ghana Licensed Surveyors Association with five years of practical training as a licensed surveyor in Ghana
All the fifty went through a tough examination and interview before being selected for their certificates and license
signed by the Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission.
Speaking at the investiture, the Executive Secretary admonished the newly invested surveyors to play by the rules.
They should be honest, readily available, maintain standards, must show integrity in their dealings with their clients.
Better still, they should avail themselves with the current digital upsurge and fit themselves into the space to be in
business.
He urged the awardees to be up and doing, uphold the good name of the Lands Commission per their performance
since they work in tandem.
The Executive Secretary asked them to form consortiums, partnerships and teams to support each other since
working alone can be difficult.
Again, they were urged to use the license to work for the benefit of the country.
This training and lincencing of this group of is done sporadically and is at the discretion of the Lands Commission.
Prospective applicants must apply and be invited by the Commission before one can be trained.
