Two people have been confirmed dead while 3 others are in critical condition in an accident that occurred in the evening of Friday at Wenchi in the Bono Region on the Wenchi – Techiman highway.
The deceased all males were returning from Wenchi to Asuogya when their Okada tricycle motor with registration number M-21-BW876 carried four passengers collided head-on with a Kia Rhino with registration number BA 379-14 which was moving in the opposite direction of the road.
A man and a woman with a one-year-old baby girl are in critical condition and have been rushed to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital for treatment.
One of the deceased according to reports gathered is allegedly a student of Techiman Senior High School in the Bono East Regional capital.
Road accidents occurs on that stretch of the road due to pot holes and bad nature of the Techiman- Wenchi – Wa highway.
According to an eye wetness the Kia Rhino dirver was attempting to avoid potholes on that stretch of the road while loosing control and collided head-on with the Okada trycicle motor.
The Wenchi Divisional Police Command of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service have not commented on the incident as at when this report has been filed.
